Asian Geos, an Operating Company of Java Offshore sets another Geotechnical Drilling Record offshore East Malaysia.
Asian Geos’s dedicated geotechnical survey vessel MV GEOS achieved a terminal drilling depth of 680m below seabed during a pilot hole operation for a Kayu Sugi campaign offshore East Malaysia. The record depth was achieved without any incident on the evening of Friday 27th October 2017. This would not have been possible without the robust planning and execution strategy of the Marine & Geotechnical Team together with the client in ensuring that all risks during operations were mitigated. This new record is considered the deepest ever pilot hole drilled in tandem with a Schlumberger’s MWD (Measuring While Drilling) by a geotechnical vessel and marks a new achievement for Asian Geos in 2017.
