Offshore Marine Surveys

Integrated Survey Solutions For Your Complex Problems

Our comprehensive range of seabed charting services provide a clear overview of the site to help clients make critical decisions necessary to stay on schedule, enhance their project safety, and design the most cost-effective marine operations.

Java Offshore provides field life cycle survey services to support development of your offshore projects. We offer geophysical and hydrography surveys to gather seabed and sub-seabed data for navigational, design and engineering purposes. We have performed over 1500 rig and platform site surveys, as well as conducted approximately 2500km of pipeline and cable route surveys. Our detailed assessments map the geo-hazards to mitigate associated risk and optimise the design of your offshore structures.

Our vessels can be mobilised from the shallow continental shelf to deep ocean waters reaching depths of 1000m. Our dedicated survey vessels, Java Imperia and Java Insignia, are permanently fitted with analogue and digital systems to acquire a range of complimentary data sets using multiple acoustic sensors in a single pass. We operate a nearshore vessel, Java Ilena, fitted with analogue sensors to perform surveys between 2-20m water depth.

The collected geophysical and hydrography data reveal precise information about the sites’ bathymetry and seabed morphology, including accurate water depths, and identifying seabed features and hazards up to 1000m two-way travel time (TWT). Our vessels are equipped with on-board processing facilities allowing for seamless integration of the data sets which can be processed and interpreted offshore. The resulting charted data may provide answers to your concerns during:

  • Rig entry and emplacement
  • Drilling operations
  • Platform installation
  • Rig re-entry surveys
  • Wind farm foundations
  • Pre-lay and post-lay pipeline/cable pre-engineering
  • Unexploded ordnance (UXO) identification
  • Seabed morphology and navigation access

Java Offshore has built a reputation for efficiently operating its survey vessels and equipment which deliver exceptional results in within the expected turn-around time. Our comprehensive range of seabed charting services provide a clear overview of the site to help clients make critical decisions necessary to stay on schedule, enhance their project safety, and design the most cost-effective marine operations.

Onshore Land Surveys

Greater Understanding Reduces Your Project Risk

Determining the ground risks associated with your planned developments allows better mitigation of foreseeable risks.

We have dedicated and experienced survey teams ready to be deployed into the field at short notice. We offer a full range of survey services including setting up bench mark and construction control points, topographic mapping, cadastral survey services and mapping land parcel boundaries as required by local authorities, land administration, land conveyance and land registration systems.

We provide a range of onshore geophysical survey services, such as:

  • Electric Resistivity surveys – to detect and map sub-surface geological structures
  • Seismic Refraction surveys – to map depth of ground water, bedrock and thickness of landslides
  • Electro Magnetic surveys to map geological structures
  • Ground Penetration Radar (GPR) – to locate and map sub-surface infrastructures such as buried pipeline and sink hole

Our geophysical surveys provide crucial data to characterise the ground conditions of your target site. Determining the ground risks associated with your planned developments allows better mitigation of foreseeable risks. Ultimately, our services add value to your projects as they help save both the life cycle schedule and cost.

GIS and Data Management

Delivering Seabed Survey Data Models From All Angles

Our integrative solutions support your project planning and decision-making by providing you with a geospatial perspective to better visualise your subsea problems.

We offer our final deliverables of geophysical spatial data in the universally accepted geographic information system (GIS) format. This allows our clients to quickly visualise, integrate and interpret their geophysical survey data. The user-friendly interphase provides an interactive viewing platform to securely store and manage thousands of gigabytes worth of geophysical survey data.

The geophysical deliverables are transformed into a geospatial database that complies with the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) regulations and standards. The results are displayed in Seabed Survey Data Model (SSDM), either as a 3D model or an animated video. Our integrative solutions support your project planning and decision-making by providing you with a geospatial perspective to better visualise your subsea problems.

Java Offshore has built a reputation in providing geophysical spatial data services, especially in SSDM data modelling used for:

  • Analogue Debris Survey
  • Analogue and Digital Site Survey
  • Pipeline Survey
Offshore Positioning Services

Precise Positioning Of Your Offshore Assets

We provide accurate positioning; a fundamental parameter for all survey and engineering operations at sea.

Java Offshore is able to lead you where you are supposed to be. We provide accurate positioning; a fundamental parameter for all survey and engineering operations at sea. Our team of highly qualified surveyors and survey engineers use the most stable equipment and software applications for high accuracy positioning.

  • Vessel Surface Navigation and Positioning
  • Underwater Precise Positioning
  • Vessel Tracking System (VTS) to monitor and display real-time positions of the vessel
  • Remote Positioning Services for anchor positioning support to work boats and barges.
  • Barge/Tug Management System (BMS) for rigs and work tender move
  • Rig move positioning
Oceanography Studies

Providing A Comprehensive Range Of Environmental Data

Java Offshore is able to offer end-to-end oceanographic surveying capabilities through the use of specialised equipment.

Get Real-time Oceanographic Data

Java Offshore is able to offer end-to-end oceanographic surveying capabilities through the use of specialised equipment such as Teledyne Webb Research (TWR) Slocum G2 gliders.

These vehicles allow our clients to get real-time oceanographic data in their operating location, especially in exclusion zone area, whilst reducing the need for personnel to be at sea. The Slocum G2 Gliders feature comprehensive data regarding the environmental condition, this includes oil spill mitigation and mammal migration awareness for deployment durations of up to 9 months, dependent on sensor payload and sampling configuration.

Autonomous Underwater Gliders Capability

Slocum gliders are buoyancy driven, long duration autonomous underwater vehicles capable of operating to depths of 1000m. Gliders return collected data via satellite in near real-time and can be re-tasked remotely from our 24/7 piloting and control centre.

The on-board sensor payload is modular and can be configured to suit the required application. Gliders can be rapidly mobilized to respond to incidents and do not require specialized deployment equipment, allowing for deployment from a range of vessels.

Since gliders are able to operate during extreme conditions, they can achieve persistent data collection. Data is processed and quality controlled in near real-time and readily available through a secure client data portal.

Applications include:

  • Hydrocarbon detection for pipeline leak detection or exploration
  • Oil spill response
  • Environmental oceanographic survey
  • Gateway communication
  • Marine mammal detection
