Java Offshore crew celebrates a simple yet meaningful Hari Raya offshore amid Covid-19 pandemic.
More than 90% of our offshore crews onboard are Muslim. Some have missed out on the celebrations for several years but all of them have one understanding; that it is their duty and obligation to provide for their family and the country.
Despite being away, our crews working offshore traditionally celebrates their Hari Raya with the mass Takbir Raya prayer and the Sunnat Hari Raya prayer. After prayers, everyone would gather at their respective mess rooms and enjoy the Hari Raya cuisine offered by their cook.
Though away from their loved ones, each year they always make Hari Raya celebration more special, if not more meaningful. Absence, or in this case – distance, definitely makes the heart grow fonder. However, thanks to technology, all crew would take time to make special video calls to their loved ones to wish them Selamat Hari Raya.
We can’t thank our offshore crews enough for their sacrifices. The ambience of Hari Raya offshore is different yet comfortingly similar because even though they are not with their loved ones, they are with their offshore family.
This is the video they have sent us. From Java Offshore family to yours, Selamat Hari Raya!
